Quick start

This guide will help you launch your affiliate program in minutes. Follow these steps to get your first affiliate to start promoting your products.

Once Affilitrak is installed on your Shopify store, follow this quick start guide to launch your affiliate program;

Step 1: Set up your program terms and commission structure.

Navigate to Programs > Create new program to create a new commissions program for your store.

a. Program Name

Give your affiliate program a memorable name (e.g., "Brand Ambassador Program").

b. Program settings

Setup your program commission percentage, collections to include or exclude and so on.

c. Make the program your default

You can decide to make the program get auto-assigned to all your affiliates when they sign up by going to Settings > New affiliates > Toggle on auto-assign program to new affiliates > Select the program you want all your affiliates to be in.

Step 2: Customize your affiliate portal

The first thing you could do after setting up a program is to customize your affiliate portal to match your stores branding.

The first step to customizing the portal is to customize the subdomain to match your stores' official domain and you'll need to contact support to enable the DNS settings for you then you'll add a new CNAME record using Affilitraks records in your domain settings.

The process can't get any simpler since this is the standard way to brand a new subdomain but you don't need to worry about the technical complexity of this process since we have a 24/7 support team that's dedicated to walking you through the setup process to ensure that you get it all setup.

To further brand the user interface of your affiliates portal, navigate to Settings > Branding to personalize the affiliate experience.

a. Brand logo and favicon

Upload your logo and set brand colors to match your store.

b. Setup your brand name

Add your store's name in the band name field to get your brand name on the affiliate portal.

c. Custom domain (Optional)

Set up a custom domain for your affiliate portal (e.g., partners.yourstore.com). To do that, navigate to Settings > Portal > Hit the activate button to reach out to support to enable the feature and walk you through the setup process. This feature helps you brand your registration link to your store's domain instead of Affilitraks'.

It's also optimal to use the links of your logo and favicon instead of uploading the image directly. To generate a link go to content in your Shopify store > files > upload a file > upload the logo and favicon.

You can then copy the link from here and use as it in the branding section of the app.

Step 3: Create a coupon template

Hit the create a coupon template button then set the coupon code template to exactly how you want it to be. You can also edit and navigate to the coupon page by going into programs on the app where you'll see the programs, MLM and coupon section.

You can assign it to all your affiliates directly from the coupon settings or you can assign your coupon templates to a program so that affiliates assigned to that program will get assigned to that coupon template automatically.

Step 4: Add your first affiliate

Now you're ready to start recruiting affiliates!

a. Share Your signup link

Find your affiliate signup link at Affiliates > Registration link. This will take them to an affiliate signup page and upon approval, they'll get their dedicated affiliate portal where they can see all their affiliate information such as earnings, copon codes, multi-level marketing details and so on.

You can share your affiliate program and registartion link on your social channels to get affiliates to start promoting your products.

b. Manually add affiliates

You can also add affiliates manually by going to the affiliates section of the app > click on the "add new affiliate" button add their Name, email and other details by filling the form that pops up > hit the create affiliate button when you're done and an invite email should be sent to the affiliates email.

This method is especially useful if you want to move affiliates from other apps to Affilitrak.
